About Alderson Public Library

The Alderson Public Library is located in Alderson, West Virginia in Greenbrier County. While we primarily serve those in Greenbrier county, we serve those in Monroe and Summers.
The town of Alderson was originally served by a bookmobile provided by the West Virginia Library Commission. In 1978, the community began a drive to develop a permanent library, and successfully dedicated the new facility in September of that year. After a devastating flood in 1985, the library was eventually moved to its current location 5 years later.
Almost 100% of the library's service are free to the public.
